Del Rancho Chicharrones imported from Honduras are being recalled because they are not eligible for import into the United States, according to the Department of Agriculture. To date, the company has not received any reports of confirmed side effects related to the consumption of this product. The recall company is Del Valle Import and Expert, LLC of Kenner, Louisiana.
The recall includes approximately 1,271 pounds of cooked pork products. The recalled items are 100 yellow and brown foil pouch packages containing Del Rancho Chicharrones Autenticos 100% Producto de Cerdo. There is a photo of the product on the package. This item does not have a facility number or USDA inspection mark. The chicharrones were shipped to retailers and distributors in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.
The issue was discovered during a routine FSIS monitoring operation of a donated product at a retail store, triggering a recall. Honduras is not eligible to export pork products to the United States.
FSIS is concerned that this product may be in consumers' pantries. Please check if you purchased this item. If you have eaten it, do not eat it. You can dispose of your product in a secure bin with a tight-fitting lid or take it back to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
