On Good Friday, we make sopa de capirotadas, a soup made from salted stockfish and cheese dumplings. On this day, Rosquillas En Miel, sweet ring-shaped pastries, and piping hot Nacata Mare are also served. After the meal, everyone usually goes to watch the crucifixion procession. On Easter Sunday, traditional foods are eaten, such as sopa de mondongo, a cow intestine soup, and dishes made with miel (honey).

Every year, the high street is decorated with a colorful path of chalk, rice and flower petals depicting Biblical characters and events leading up to Jesus' crucifixion. Another of his destinations, famous for Alfonbras, is Tegucigalpa, or Calle Cervantes. On Friday morning, high school and college students take to the streets to transform sidewalks into stunning works of art. Watching the process is as great an experience as watching the solemn street processions that take place here in the late afternoon.
