The groundbreaking ceremony for the San Pedro Sula Honduras Temple was presided over by Elder Jose Bernardo Hernández of the Area Seventy on September 5, 2020. Elder Hernández is from San Pedro Sula.
In his address at the ceremony, Elder Hernandez said blessings come not only from the temple, but from the preparation to enter the temple. [to go to the temple] It will bring many unimaginable blessings into our lives, including eternal life and eternal family unity. ”
The San Pedro Sula Temple was announced by President Russell M. Nelson on April 7, 2019. The groundbreaking and site dedication ceremony for this Lord's House was held on September 5, 2020, and was presided over by Elder Jose Bernardo Hernández of the Area Seventy.
Architecture and Design of the San Pedro Sula Temple in Honduras
The San Pedro Sula Temple in Honduras is a one-story building with a tower above the entrance. Exterior renderings show his group of three rectangular windows lining the exterior perimeter and an arch covering a set of brown doors in the front. The tower at the top of the building rests on a square pedestal with arched windows on each side and a domed cupola above it.
In front of the temple is a fountain and a row of bushes. Grass and palm trees also cover the site.
